Being an introvert means I gain my energy primarily through being by myself.
My age can be found somewhere in the twenties, and I'm a 2nd/3rd generation Chinese American. I try my best to follow Jesus. And I'm still trying to figure out what it means to love Jesus, and love others.
I like a lot of things, but I don't necessarily love a lot of things. I like baking, singing, writing, reading, and making things, but I can't seem to develop any specific interests that I'm absolutely passionate about. While I like learning and growing in my interests & hobbies, I'm not exactly the most disciplined person in taking the time to do them more so that I can be good or great.
I like eating my cereal dry with a cup of milk on the side. In my opinion, soggy cereal is a big no-no. However, there are a few cereals I take as exceptions because they don't get soggy too quickly and they taste better with milk than by themselves - i.e., Cap'n Crunch, Coco Puffs. Not that I even eat these cereals very often.
I enjoy hosting tea parties. Heck, it doesn't have to be tea parties. I like doing (almost) anything that will provide the space and environment for others to relax, as well as enjoy and learn about others in their company. Yes, just because I'm an introvert doesn't mean I don't like people!
Making lists is so much fun. And you know what's better than that? Crossing things off those lists. It gives me such an immense amount of satisfaction and accomplishment.
When my husband proposed to me, he didn't give me a diamond ring - instead he gave me a wad of cash. Was I offended? Nope, I loved it. I'm actually not really a diamond kind of girl (sorry, they're not my best friend), and I loved that I got to use the money for shared experiences together and other kinds of gifts.
When I drive, I really enjoy yielding to pedestrians. Why? I don't know. Part of it could be because as a girl who grew up in NYC, I didn't really need to drive and so I always appreciated when cars would yield when I walked around (especially since that didn't really happen in NYC), so it's nice to return the favor, even though it's just the law. Part of it could just be that I like doing it because I can.
I don't really enjoy stereotypical girly-girl things. I don't wear make-up, I've had my nails painted maybe twice in my entire life (I really hate the smell), and shopping is not really my go-to leisurely activity. I do like braiding and doing nice things with my hair, though. And I like thoughtful, put-together outfits - even though on most days I'm a jeans and plain t-shirt kind of lady.
But I'm not really a tom-boy type, either. I don't keep up with professional sports, though I do like going to the occasional baseball game. I don't really play any sports - I throw like a girl and wish I was more athletic. I don't know much about video games, but if you teach me how to play, I probably wouldn't mind taking a stab at it.
Now that you've learned more about me, I'd love to get to know you better. Feel free to contact me!
